Land has always had a mystical meaning for Micronesians.  In the past it was more a link with one's roots and a source of identity than it was a commodity.   It is only during recent years that land has come to be regarded as a possession.  As the small island nations in the Pacific strive for economic development, they will need to use land as the valuable resource that it is.  In this video documentary, several Micronesians speak about the ways in which land might be used as a resource.  The video features interviews with Micronesians who have used land in different ways to promote their own businesses.  These people may be a model for development in years to come.
