| Perhaps the biggest impetus to the visitor industry was the introduction of jet air service in 1968 by Continental Airlines. Plane service increased from once a week to several flights a week. Improved transportation meant more visitors and better quarters. Here the new Continental 727 sits on the landing strip on Saipan. |
