| In the other half of the sketch, women and children pass the time outside a Kosraean dwelling. Were the roofs of Kosraean houses pitched so sharply? Or is this a European embellishment? These among the very few eye-witness drawings we have of Kosrae prior to the coming of the missionaries in 1852. |
