MISCELLANEOUS: Agat village was a camp established by Civil Affairs to house natives who were left homeless after the naval and aerial bombardment of Agana, formerly a town of 11,000 people on Guam, Marianas Islands. Unlike on Saipan where natives were placed in stockades, the people on Guam were allowed complete freedom. 18 November 1944.

This photograph, taken 10 October 1944, gives one a general view of the destruction in the town on Guam, Marianas Islands. The street to the right is the Calle Santa Cruz which dates back to 1870. On the hills in the background are the headquarter buildings of the island command.
